The pesky bed bugs were riling up the tenants of Spencer Court. It was said that since July, those critters have been causing the senior residents problems.
Managed by Senior Housing Assistance Group or SHAG, the facility underwent four pest-control treatments already. However, the tenants said that the pests are still in the building. And needless to say, they are not happy about it.

Some residents say that they were forced to throw away some of their furniture because of the crawlies. Their clothes, they also have to get professionally cleaned and bagged to keep the insects away.

At least 18 units of the housing were said infested by bed bugs. Despite that and the inconvenience those pests were causing, many of the tenants said that the landlord wasn’t doing enough to solve the problem. Worse, they said that several of them were also billed $443 for the bed bug treatment.
However, SHAG contradicted that they were implementing multiple treatments to get rid of the problem. With regards to the amount billed to some residents, it said that it may have been given only to those who did not cooperate in the bed bug elimination process.

“Bed bugs have been crawling around Spencer Court since July. It’s a low income senior housing project run by SHAG, the Senior Housing Assistance Group.
When Carol Sanders first noticed the bugs she said, “it creeped me out.” She and her husband had to throw out their bed and couch because they were infested by the blood sucking parasites. They’re sleeping on an air mattress now.”
