Black mold was discovered in Metcalfe County in Kentucky. Because of that, it was decided that the structure will be closed temporarily.
The presence of the said toxic mold was known after an inspection was implemented in each room of the building. And particularly, the leaks in the heating and cooling system of the structure were determined as the primary causes of the infestation.
To resolve the problem, it was announced that the courthouse will close for two days – Friday and Monday. Those two days will be used for the mold removal process, which will cost around $20,000.
In light of the discovery of black mold, the transfer of offices was brought up. However, Judge-Executive Greg Wilson stated that is not likely to happen.
