For the past two months, Atlanta endured heavy rainfalls. Because of that, mold emerged and became a major problem to the residents.
One mold specialist from Quincy even said that these days, they were getting five to six calls a day because of mold presence. And as he explained, that’s because the downpour saturated the grounds, which allowed the water to come through the crawl spaces, cinder blocks and the foundation of the houses. That then created the environments that triggered mold to flourish.

Kristy Welch was one of those residents who came out as a mold victim and shared her story. According to her statement, her son experienced more asthma attacks when they moved into a new rental home. And just as she confirmed, the mold behind their washer, which was as waist-high, was the problem.

However, experts said that a professional help isn’t really necessary to do a removal process. If the infestation is not more than 10 square feet, they stated that a personal mold treatment could be implemented.

“Significant rainfall and moisture is causing major mold problems throughout the metro Atlanta area.
“We’ve gotten five or six phone calls daily because of the amount of rainfall we’ve had the past two months,” said Quincy Collins, a certified mold specialist. “The grounds are very saturated and we are finding that a lot of water (is) coming through the crawl spaces through cinder blocks and foundations, causing a lot of problem.”

Indeed, an expensive professional mold treatment is not needed in a mold infestation that it contained in a small area. However, before you could contain mold, you first have to detect its presence early. And to do that, you have to be alert of mold signs and symptoms.
Those mold signs to look out for are basically the following:
- Leaks. They are sources of moisture, which, in return, prompts mold growth.
- Stains on walls, floors and other areas close to a source of moisture.
- Mold Smell. Mold spores emit a musty odor.
Staying alert of these mold symptoms, you could locate mold infestation early on and promptly prevent an all-out mold infestation. But how could you do the DIY mold removal process?

According to some people, bleach is an effective solution to kill mold spores. However, even experts say that it isn’t the best option given that it allows mold regrowth. So what then should you use? The answer to that – Molderizer and Safe Shield.
Both of those products were proven effective by mold contractors, hotels and hospitals. And compared to the hiring of a professional, DIY mold removal with the use of them is definitely much less expensive.

Basically, Molderizer works as the mold cleaner. It kills mold spores from the roots to the tips and changes the DNA make-up of them to prevent their re-growth. Meanwhile, Safe Shield, blocks more spores from growing into the treated surface. Hence, if applied after the mold cleaning with Molderizer, it prevents future mold infestation.
That’s not all. Both products could also neutralize mold odor and are organic-based. So aside from being effective, they are also safe for health and the environment.
