It has been more than a year since Sandy swept the east coast. But even until today, it continues to cause troubles with the mold that it brought.
Hundreds, even thousands, of people in New York City are still fighting the troublesome spores. Some of them couldn’t even get inside their houses or establishments yet.

Based on the data from the Building Department, 433 buildings in the city remain red-taped. That is, up to this today, they are deemed unsafe. Meanwhile, 1,013 more are yellow-taped. The mark signifies that they are with some restrictions.
Moreover, some 2,000 to 3,000 single-family homes are believed to be in need of cleanup. The cleaning is mold and some other hurricane-caused problems.

However, those structural damages aren’t all the problems. As mold is also a risk to health, many hurricane victims still suffer from illnesses connected with fungus’ presence.
