Mold in Hamilton Leaves Family Sickened

Mold has left a family in Hamilton with a lot of troubles. Besides the various health risks it brought to the members, it also forced all of them to leave their residence.

According to wife and mother Kelly Harley, several months after their transfer, she, her husband, her 10-year-old son Thomas, 5-year-old daughter and their grandmother developed cold-like symptoms. Those then turned worse over time and were later found to have been caused by mold.

The fungus was just initially found at the basement of the house, which was said to have been flooded. After an inspection though, the entire structure was discovered to be infested by various types of it.

It was said that the previous tenants experienced the same problem with the house. But to cover it up, it was alleged that the landlord just painted over the mold before renting it out.

“Several months after moving into a home on Peter Rafferty Drive in Hamilton in May, Thomas, his 5-year-old sister, his parents and 62-year-old grandmother all began developing cold-like symptoms that quickly worsened over time, explained Kelly Harley, Thomas’s mom. After visiting several doctors trying to determine where their ailments stemmed from, the answer was found when Kelly Harley noticed mold growing downstairs in the basement. That’s when the nightmare began, she said.”
