Bed bugs have crept their way into a homeless shelter in Nebraska. The facility’s supervisor recently confirmed their presence in one news website.
Care Corps in Fremont was specifically that affected facility. But according to its executive director, Mike Wehling, they aren’t the only shelter dealing with those vampire-like critters. And as he stated, that’s because chemical pesticides these days aren’t as effective and several shelters are now operating with less funding.

In Care Corps, Wehling said that they were battling the crawlies with heat treatment. But with the high-traffic of people going in and out of the facility, he said that it could be a continuous process.
In addition to that, the fact that the shelter still got wooden bed frames also had become an issue for the management. That’s because it is said that wood beds are where bed bugs harbor and breed.

The problem though is that the facility doesn’t have enough fund to get the needed metal beds. It has received a grant of $20,000 for it. However, it needs $45,000 to make the necessary purchase.
