A year and a half ago, the employees of Union Gap’s city hall were forced to relocate. And the reason determined was the black mold presence.
The relocation cost the city some $60,000. However, this past summer, it was found out that the fungus in the building might not have been that dangerous. This December, the latest test results will either confirm or reject that assessment.

On December 1st, the roof of the city hall will be inspected. The result of it will be presented to the city council on December 9th.
During the meeting, the council will then decide whether to pursue its new planned renovation of the building. And that includes the bringing in of the Police Department in the city hall.
However, a member of the council, Dan Olson, said that the plan wasn’t presented before. He added that he thought the city was still deciding whether to demolish the building or not. However, Mayor Wentz contradicted that the proposal had been discussed before.

Black mold is considered a very toxic mold specie. Hence, it is a must to get rid of it.
Nonetheless, even those types of mold deemed to be non-toxic could also have negative effects to your health. Some of those health problems that they could particularly cause are eye, nose and throat irritations, allergies and breathing difficulties. They could also trigger asthma attacks and worsen the condition of people with weak lungs or respiratory system.
However, it’s not always cost-effective to call a mold removal company, especially in cases when the spores’ spread is not massive. Instead, in situations wherein the fungus’ growth hasn’t yet covered more than ten square feet yet, why not do the remediation yourself. Certainly, with that, you could save money.

Moreover, if you use Molderizer and Safe Shield in your processes, you could make sure that the treatment is safe. Being organic-based, they don’t leave residues that could harm your health and the environment.
