Richmond is getting it bad from bed bugs. A report said that hundreds of apartment units in the city were found to be infested by the crawlies.
Particularly, it was said that about 300 units under the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority were hit severely by the said vampire-like pests. And as shared, Anne-Alicia Moore was one of those residents who’s suffering terribly from it.
Based on Moore’s statement, her initial report of bed bugs was dismissed because the inspectors said that they found no bug in her place. So, she started collecting the crawlies to prove the officials wrong. However, she added that the eight bed bug treatments implemented in her unit did not effectively clear the pests hence, her continued collection of the critters.
When informed of the bed bug problem, the State Health Department said they only regulate bed bugs in hotels and motes. However, it stated that as it seemed, the bed bug treatments executed by the city were not done properly.

“A Richmond woman said she has been collecting dozens of bed bugs in bottles and bags to prove her point. Anne-Alicia Moore said she collected the bugs to convince the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority to fix the bed bug problem in her apartment.
“It’s terrible, very terrible. It’s really bad. It’s mentally and physically horrible for me,” Moore said.
She said she started collecting the bugs after inspectors initially told her they could not find any in her home. She proved them wrong and then continued collecting the bugs because she said none of the eight treatments that followed worked to rid the problem.”
