A pizza crust without toppings is not a pizza. However, a cockroach is definitely not one of those ingredients that must be included on the list them. Considering that it brings various health threats, it is one thing that must not even be seen in the kitchen.
However, one pizzeria in UK didn’t seem to care about having those pests in its kitchen area. A report said that last year, a 6-year-old boy found a dead roach in the pizza that it served. Horrified, the boy’s parents informed the authorities and an investigation soon followed.

When the inspection took place, the inspectors found out that the sanitation in the restaurant in question – Munchies Pizza – was actually worse than they anticipated. As it was described, cockroaches were all over the place, crawling and retreating to pans and inside walls. Additionally, a thick layer of dirt was also noticed in the food preparation area.
Recently, it was announced that the said restaurant was eventually shut down. The pizzeria owner, Matloob Hussein, was found guilty of eight offenses. And besides the closing of the restaurant, he was also fined with a hefty amount.

Cockroaches are considered signs of poor sanitation. Hence, nobody could really blame the boy’s parents and the authorities for causing the closure of Munchies Pizza.
However, you couldn’t really involve authorities with issues of cockroaches in your own house, could you? So, basically, their prevention and elimination from your home are all up to you.

To prevent roaches, generally, you have to keep your place tidy. Particularly, you have to promptly clean food crumbs and spills. Also, you must never leave your dirty dishes overnight and your food uncovered.
