Many of Hurricane Sandy’s victims in New Jersey are still recovering. And among the number of things that make it harder for them to completely move on from the disaster is black mold. Recognizing that, the state’s Department of Health published a mold guide entitle Mold: Guidelines for New Jersey Residents.
As stated in a post from patch.com, mold causes property damage. Apart from that, it brings in several risks to health. The said guide was released to help New Jersey residents properly clean and remediate mold and correct those problems.
Particularly, the said guideline, which is in the form of a pamphlet, offers homeowners aid how to identify mold. And the post stated that if the mold growth is less than 10 square feet, you could actually do the remediation yourself.
However, if it isn’t, it said that a professional help may be needed. And the guide, it said, has the questions to ask, consumer tips and checklist for hiring a contractor for mold inspection and mold remediation.
Apart from the pamphlet, the department also offers free mold training for the residents.
