Like other mothers, Jessica Alba wants her kids safe. Unlike other moms though, she more than just provides their needs and gets them cleaned. She also rallies to convince the US government to limit the harmful chemicals used in baby items.
On the Ellen DeGeneres show, the Dark Angel star said she’s going to Washington DC next week to campaign for toxic reform in front of the members of the US Congress. Jessica will join the organization called Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families for the cause.
Now pregnant of her second child, Jessica fist knew about the harmful toxins on baby products when she was still carrying her first daughter, Honor. She said that she researched and found out about the toxic chemicals on baby items and that they can cause unnecessary harm to kids and families.
Believing that it should be given that baby products are safe, Jessica hopes the Congress will get convinced to raise the limit of toxins in baby items. And for the sake of all the kids and their families, hopefully, the government will indeed listen and that other mothers will go green and support the cause as well.

Pregnant actress Jessica Alba is heading to Washington, D.C. next week to urge members of the U.S. Congress to introduce a new law limiting toxic chemicals in baby products.
The Fantastic Four star first became aware of the potentially harmful chemicals used in everyday items when she was preparing to become a first-time mother in 2008.
She explains, “When I was pregnant with Honor, I did all of this research and I found out that all of these products have toxic chemicals in them that are in and around our kids and us and they’re causing unnecessary harm on our families.
Raising the issue on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Alba says, “I’m going to D.C. next week with this organization called Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families, and we’re trying to get Congress to have toxic chemical reform. So basically all the products that are on our shelves, everyday products, …we wanna raise the bar to make sure these toxins aren’t in our products.
