A NEW business that makes fresh, organic baby food has been running out of the Eastern Region Business Enterprise and Arts Centre in Midland for some months.
Naturally, Baby! is the brainchild of Jo-Ann Long, a new grandmother who spotted a gap in the market for fresh baby food when watching her daughter puree fresh, organic fruit and vegetables for her grandson.
Ms Long said while supermarkets had a wide selection of baby foods, many were heat treated, over processed or had additives and preservatives to ensure a long shelf life.
She said her business was about providing parents with another choice of pre-prepared baby food, snap frozen for delivery.
The menu changes seasonally and caters for babies from four to 12 months, with age appropriate textures and ingredients.
The Naturally, Baby! kitchen is also dedicated to being environmentally friendly, and products are in reusable and recyclable thermal bags packed with gel ice blocks to ensure the contents remain frozen for up to four hours.
“We have employed a number of environmentally friendly processes in our kitchen including a revolutionary chemical free cleaning system,” she said.
“We also endeavour to source our organic produce locally wherever possible, to minimise the food miles incurred in production.”
