Yet again, bed bugs penetrated and pestered another university. This time, they got Princeton University in New Jersey.
Particularly, those tiny vampire-like critters infested a suite in the campus’ Holder Hall in Rockefeller College. The room is occupied by four students. And as it was reported, all of them were evacuated following the discovery of the pests’ presence.

But as if one relocation wasn’t an inconvenience yet, the crawlies caused the residents to transfer from their suite twice. The first evacuation took place promptly after an infestation was reported by two of the occupants on September 13. The second one happened on September 27 following another discovery of the pests by the two same residents.
To give way to the bed bug treatment, the four students were transferred after the first bed bug incident to the single rooms in 1915 Hall, Butler College. Meanwhile, their clothes, books and laptops were exposed to high temperature for four hours to kill the crawlies. Their remaining belonging was then shipped for a fumigation set for seven days.

On September 23, the four occupants were allowed to go back to the infested suite. However, they were again asked to move to the single rooms in Butler College after the second infestation last Friday. University spokesperson Martin Mbugua said that following it, the room will go through the same treatment and the residents’ things will also be re-heated.
