Nonetheless, of all those troubles, the report suggested that the presence of bed bugs is among the worst. Tenants said the steaming of their apartments several times did not work on those blood-feeding crawlies.
But according to Randall Wood, executive director of Housing Authority of Plainfield, which was also housed in the building, they were doing the best they can about the problem. He said that they already brought in exterminators, thrice already, to help the residents deal with the critters.
That professional help to kill bed bugs, it was said, had already cost the authority more than $100, 000.
