Last week, Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter at San Luis Obispo, California temporarily closed down. That’s no thanks to the bloodthirsty bed bugs. But according to a report, those crawlies didn’t have enough. They were back.
The closing of the shelter the previous week came after the presence of bed bugs was confirmed in one of the sections of the building. The whole place was then shut down for spraying and its sheets, towels and blankets were removed to be cleaned. On Friday, it was then reopened.

However, as it seems, the shelter’s actions to solve its first ever bed bug problem weren’t enough. It was again closed down due to another sighting of bed bugs.
The brown and tiny vampire-like insects were again found on Sunday on the same spot where the infestation was determined last week. But this time, no schedule of reopening was set yet. It was just said that the facility would close indefinitely until the critters are completely eradicated.

Meanwhile, occupants were again transferred back to Prado Day Center.

“The Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter in San Luis Obispo is again closed because more bedbugs were found Sunday after an infestation last week.
Shelter staff discovered bedbugs July 8, according to Dee Torres, homeless services coordinator for Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County. The 50-bed shelter was subsequently closed until the building, as well as hundreds of pounds of linens, could be sprayed and cleaned.”

The re-closing of Maxine Lewis Shelter due to bed bugs shows that a single bed bug treatment is sometimes not enough to completely get rid of the pests. And there are three major reasons why. First, it could be that bed bugs were introduced again to the place without being noticed. Second, it could be that the treatment wasn’t implemented thoroughly enough to cover all the possible bed bug spots. And three, it could be that the product used is not effective against the critters.
With the first two reasons, you just have to exert more effort to prevent the re-infestation. You need to be more cautious to avoid their re-entry to your home and when doing your treatment, you have to be keen enough to inspect and treat all their possible hiding areas. However, all your effort would turn to naught if you don’t have the right product.
So, after evaluating your bed bug treatment procedure, see to it that you also verify the effectiveness of bed bug spray. Spray it on a caught bed bug and observe its effect. If it turns out that it’s the problem in your bed bug elimination process, promptly make the switch to the right product.

The question though is that – what makes a bed bug spray the right product? The answer is not only its effectiveness but also the safety that it offers. After all, bed bug elimination is for keeping you safe from those bloodsuckers.
Hence, your bed bug spray choice must be organic-based. Because, it does not contain the chemicals common in pesticides, then you could make sure that it won’t pose a risk to your health and the environment.
Nonetheless, of the many bed bug sprays there are today, Bed Bug Bully is the one you would want to purchase. And that’s because it was already proven to kill bed bugs in seconds without releasing foul fumes or dangerous residues. Actually, EPA already classified it under FIFRA 25(b).
Moreover, you could now test this pesticide-exempt product by yourself. It’s complimentary samples are currently available for you to test.
