New York is one of the states most-infested by bed bugs. And as reports have it, one of its nursing facilities was the most-recent target of the blood-fed pests.
The Chemung County Nursing Facility in Elmira, New York was specifically that affected nursing facility. And though bed bugs are rampant in New York, it was the first time for the said nursing home to deal with the vampire-like creatures.

Three of the facility’s rooms were affected and underwent bed bug treatment. That includes the source room and the two rooms on either of its side.
Particularly, a recliner brought inside the facility was the said root source of the pests. Several bed bugs were seen on it on March 3, related the nursing facility administrator and county public health director, Robert Page. And while the two adjacent rooms were already bed-bug-free after the first spraying, the source room had to be sprayed for the second time after a bed bug was found in it again. It remains monitored and closed for three days. Before being reopened, it will undergo another steam treatment.
